We left from Kebre Mengist for a 12 mile drive to Shakiso. Again the road was very difficult, but it was through some beautiful scenery! Along the way I saw a group of big monkeys along the side of the road! I wish I was faster with my camera - but I did not get a photo.
Of course - in keeping with this trip we had a flat along the way! I think that makes 3 ... So far!
Shakiso is a town built around gold and titanium mines. There are about 35,000 people in this city and there are no paved roads for miles around. Here are photos of some of the city.
Here is a photo of the Assembly of God church we gathered in.
About 55 church leaders from 4 congregations representing the Assembly Denomination attended the gathering. While I was hoping for representation from other believers in Shakiso, sometimes that just doesn't work out.
We had a great time in Shakiso and are looking forward to returning next year for more bible training.
Again, I was gifted the traditional clothes of an Oromo Tribe Elder or Leader! It is a something that will be treasured!
